Air conditioning not only ensures cool air, but also poses health risks: spread germs, molds and microorganisms that are very harmful to health. That's why we don't offer AC. Please use our stand fan.

Here on Samosir Island, the temperatures are 18/19° at night and 25 to 29° during the day. The weather only gets warmer a few days a year. We hope for understanding. Thank you.

 

Bathroom: We are a Sumatran hotel and therefore we have a traditional wet bathroom with western toilet, rain shower and wash basin. This means that the floor is completely wet after showering. Indonesians like to splash while showering or washing their colothes on the floor. A totally wet bathroom and a flooded bathroom floor is a part of the local culture and is normal in many Indonesian areas. Please understand, that an Indonesian bathroom is different to an European with a shower cabin. Thank you!

 

Breakfast: Enjoy your complimentary breakfast with a fantastic view over the lake and mountain range 

from 7:00 – 10:00 am in the Lakeview Restaurant. 

 

Check-in/Check-out: The check-in time is 2:00 pm and the check-out time is 12:00 am.  Depending on the situation, guests who have booked directly with us can check out later.

Children: Children from 12 years old are considered adults. An additional fee may apply for children under 12 years old. 

 

Christian island: Please note that our island is traditionally Christian.
If you practice another religion, we ask you to respect our Batak culture. We ask for tolerance.
All religions and cultures are welcome in our hotel!

 

Dress code: We kindly ask you to visit our restaurant in decent clothing. It is forbidden to attend breakfast in bathing suits.

 

Drinking water: All our guests have the opportunity to refill their drinking water bottles for free.

 

Elevator: Experts advised us not to install an elevator in our hotel, because the nearest service point is in Medan (4 to 5 hours drive one way from our island hotel). The safety of our guests is our top priority and our hotel is therefore only suitable for guests who can climb a few stairs. Our staff will help to carry your luggage. 

 

Food: Our food offer is halal and according to WHO guidlines. All our guests can consume our offer without hesitation. We also offer vegetarian and vegan menus.

Housekeeping: We kindly ask you to hand in your room key at the reception if you want to have your room cleaned. Towels are changed and rooms are cleaned upon request.

 

Pool towels: You will find pool towels in your room. We ask you to bring the towels back to your room. Thanks.

 

Quiet hours: We ask our guests to please keep sound levels to a minimum between the hours of 10:00 pm and 7:00 am.

 

Reception: Our reception is open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

 

Room occupancy: Maximum occupancy in the room is 2 adults and max. 2 children under the age of 9. 

 

Room keys: Please leave your room keys at the reception desk when leaving the hotel. The charge for misplaced room keys is 200.000 IDR.

 

Smoking: Guests are welcome to smoke on their private balcony, in the common areas of the hotel and in the restaurant. Thank you for your understanding.

 

Swimming pool: Enjoy our swimming pool, which is operated with an environmentally friendly water management.

 

Wifi: Our wifi you can use in the entire hotel and in the garden.  It is for our guests free of charge and ideal for digital nomads who appreciate fast wifi.
