Sustainable eating is about choosing foods that are healthful to our environment and our bodies. This plant-based eating style includes more vegetables, fruits and less animal-based foods, especially red meat and processed meat. Limiting refined grains and added sugars is encouraged as well.

BATAK CUISINE is part of Indonesian cuisine and compared to other Sumatran cuisine traditions. One characteristic of Batak cuisine is andaliman spice. That is why andaliman in Indonesia sometimes dubbed as "Batak pepper". Andaliman pepper is hand-picked in the jungle and is rare because it cannot be cultivated; it needs the enzymes of birds to germinate. Andaliman pepper has a slightly anesthetic effect similar to Szechuan pepper and has an intense citrus taste. Andaliman pepper stimulates the flow of saliva and the food is perceived more intensely.

SUMATRAN CUISINE often has Middle Eastern influences, featuring curried meat and vegetables such as gulai and curry dishes. Elements of Chinese cuisine can be seen in foods such as noodles, meat balls, and spring rolls have been completely assimilated.

Indonesian dishes have rich flavours; most often described as savory, hot and spicy, and also combination of basic tastes such as sweet, salty, sour and bitter. 

INDONESIAN CUISINE is a collection of various regional culinary traditions that formed the archipelagic nation of Indonesia and most Indonesians prefer spicy food, greatly by region with many different influences.
